If you live at The Villages West, you should have received an important email blast on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Below is the content of that email:

Good Afternoon,
We wanted to give you a fall update as per the ways in which we approach the fall and landscaping operations.
Planting:  Now is an excellent time for planting.  The cooler season encourages root growth vigor which gives sustainability for any tree/shrub/perennial.
  • Once a plant establishes its root system it can then flourish in the landscape to achieve its potential.
Turf:   Aerating, Seeding, and Lime.  These services are greatly beneficial to the overall health of your lawn.
Fall Flowers and Decorating:     Now is the time when we will be performing the next rotation of flowers.  We have started this process already.
  • As the cold nights set in…the flowers start to fail.  You may have seen us remove some finished flowers already.
  • The sooner the new fall flowers are planted and established… the better they will and can provide flowers “now and thru next May.”
  • Fall Flowers, Mums, Cabbage and Pansies/Violas, Tulips, Daffodils, have arrived.  Now is the time to plant bulbs to provide early spring color.
  • It’s also the time to get ready to decorate with Hay, Corn Stalks, and Pumpkins/Gourds.
Mowing:    As we begin our Autumn Operations-we will begin as usual our 10 day mow schedule as the grass is slowing down.
  • When those last leaves have yet to fall off the trees, you will be glad that BrightView still has one last visit left for the season before cleanups start.
Irrigation:   With the cooler weather upon us and the threat of any heat wave is hopefully over… it’s time to lower your monthly water bill..!!!
  • We recommend lowering your irrigation down to 2-3 days a week if you or we didn’t do so already.  We might have done this already for you.
  • We will be scheduling full system shut downs toward the end of October & November
***I hope this information has given you a better outlook for the fall on what you can do and expect to see from us.
Thanks,
Joseph A. Leek II
