If you live at the Villages at Huntington, you should have received an important email blast on Tuesday, October 10, 2017. Below is the content of that email:

This year, Halloween will fall on Tuesday, October 31st. From past experience, it is clear that The Villages, because of the large number of homes in a gated community in close proximity to each other, is a desirable destination neighborhood for large numbers of trick-or-treaters.
For the safety of the increased numbers of individuals (children and adults) walking/driving on our roadways, and to accommodate residents and authorized visitors entering/exiting our community in vehicles or on foot, we put the following additional safety measures in place:
  1. Maximum (our security company) will provide us with an additional security guard at the front entrance.
  2. Maximum will provide us with 2 roving security vehicles from 4 PM on Tuesday (Halloween) until 12 AM midnight on the following day, Wednesday.
  3. In order to ease traffic at the front entrance which can get severely backed up, preventing residents from gaining entrance to their homes, we ask all residents to email in advance an authorized visitor list to [email protected] of names of those you authorize to enter on Halloween. NAI will assemble and provide the list to Maximum to expedite entry. This can be very helpful. At Maximum’s request, no “allow all vehicles in” requests will be accepted on Halloween.
  4. There have been calls from residents who have babies, those who do not embrace trick-or-treating, or who are impaired by physical disabilities/illness, about the disturbance of the continual ringing of doorbells. Hopefully, a sign posted on the front door requesting no bell ringing will help.
  5. Trick-or-treating should start no earlier than 11 AM and should be completed by 9 PM. As always, gathering in common areas is prohibited at sundown for the safety and protection of all.
  6. Private parties are private, but at times the spillover of those leaving the home, have led to vandalism and late night noise and disturbance. Please advise your guests of our policies.
  7. The cleaning company will be scheduled to work on Wednesday, November 1st, to pick up rubbish and clean off remnants of sprays, etc. We have also arranged for additional garbage pails to be stationed by the clubhouse.
Thank you for your cooperation in all of the above.
Sincerely,
Board of Directors
