If you live at the Villages at Huntington, you should have received an important email blast on Friday, August 18, 2017. Below is the content of that email:
Dear Resident:
Finally, the road work has been completed at the Villages of Huntington!
The Board of Directors and NAI Long Island would like to thank you for your cooperation during this project.
We hope this was not a major inconvenience and we feel this project has enhanced the appearance of your community.
Unfortunately, some residents have reported a white stain already on the seal coating. I contacted American Waste your carting company who investigated the stain markings on some of blocks at the Villages. The owner of American Waste, Robert Velocci determined that it was disposal of sand paint which was discarded improperly.
Liquid paint must never be thrown out in the regular garbage. When the garbage truck collects the liquid paint and compacts the paint it can leak from the truck and damage the roadway, ruin private property and harm the environment.
This is not the first incident of paint spillage and the discarding of paint and other liquids in an improper manner. I will be sending separate Blast reminding residents of the proper procedure.
At this time we are looking into the best was to remedy the damage.
Thank you and have a great weekend!
Christine Tonetti, Property Manager
