If you live at The Villages West, you should have received an important email blast on Tuesday, July 25, 2017. Below is the content of that email:

This picture was sent to us by the Town of Huntington carters yesterday…

If the guidelines are not followed for garbage bin areas, the Town will not pick up and we will have to hire a private carter, resulting in an additional expense to town homes and condos on Brattle Circle. Violators, if found, will be fined.
Please be reminded of the following:
For residents, using garbage bin areas, garbage must be placed in sturdy plastic bags and placed into available pails (or if full, on top of pails, not on bin floor area). Bulk items (larger that 2x2x4 or weighing more that 50 lbs) must be placed outside the bin area no earlier than the night before Thursday pickup. For pick up of appliances or large metal items, call (631) 231-8765.
For moving in and moving out:
The Town requires move-in/move-out waste to comply with the set out rules and regulations (see above). If a residents exceeds the allowable limit, they have to store the waste or hire a waste removal company. All cardboard boxes should be flattened and bundled.
For all other residents:
Garbage and recycle pails must be stored “out of plain sight” until the evening (i.e. at dusk) before pickup. Pails may not be stored in front of your garage, house or other area visible from the curb. They must be stored either in the garage or other area not visible from the curb or offensive to neighbors and must be out of sight within a reasonable time from pickup.
Garbage must be in a pail or a sturdy plastic bag (not a kitchen garbage bag to avoid animals getting at it). Recycling is encouraged and you must check the
Villages West website calendar or the Town of Huntington calendar for dates of pickup. Large items and moving out or in must adhere to the same rules as above.
Garbage may not sit out until the next pick up.
