If you live at The Villages West, you should have received an important email blast on Thursday, April 26, 2018. Below is the content of that email:

Spring 2018 Message from Villages West HOA
Spring is upon us and we just wanted to remind you of a few items.
First and foremost, it is our goal to keep our community safe and one of which we can all be proud. To do that we ask that you follow our HOA rules (posted on our website) and some additional safety procedures:
  • Observe speed limits (and remind your guests of such)
  • Curb (and clean up after) your dog and do not feed stray cats. Dogs must be leashed at all times within the community, even on common areas. Be reminded that fines have been increased and there are no warnings.
  • Clean out dryer vents periodically to prevent dryer fires
  • Make sure to check and set your sprinkler cycles to operate between midnight and 6 am.
  • Follow storage rules regarding garbage cans and please use proper cans in garbage bin areas and follow regulations regarding bulk items and paint
  • Carbon monoxide detectors need to be replaced after 7 years (they will beep and error message will be displayed); they have a built-in obsolescence and changing the battery will not help.
  • As required, landscaping and outside condition of homes must be at a minimum of what builder originally turned over. Remember that power washing will remove mold that may build up on siding.
  • Check AC condenser lines and water heaters for leaks; proper maintenance will prevent leaks and mold which may have occurred, sometimes unknowingly.
  • Know where your main shut off valve is for water.
  • Condos: it is suggested that you do not turn off heaters in utility rooms
In addition, we would like to remind you that, even though we are a gated community, common sense precautions should be taken. Lock your car and home, keep garage doors shut, and if you see something that doesn’t look right, call the gatehouse and/or the police.
And please remind children to use caution when riding bicycles and scooters, as well as being respectful of others and property.
And finally, if information changes during the year (new cars, new phone or e-mail, additions to your Do Not Call, etc.) remember to notify NAI to update your security profile.
As always, we will do our part in maintaining our community and will be taking care of winter related problems such as road repairs, landscaping issues, cement work, etc. We will also be sprucing up the clubhouse and gatehouse.
Thanks for your cooperation in keeping our home values up and most of all, providing a safe, clean and attractive community.
